Local Government in Cumbria has changed. From 1 April 2023, the former six district councils and Cumbria County Council were replaced by two new unitary local authorities. Cumberland Council comprises of the area formerly covered by Allerdale, Carlisle and Copeland districts; and Westmorland and Furness Council comprises of the area formerly covered by Barrow-in-Furness, Eden and South Lakeland districts.
