The Unitary Local Authority of Westmorland and Furness can be broken down into three Locality Board areas which have been designed to promote close working with communities and to make sure local voices are heard when developing services and policies.
Westmorland and Furness’s Locality Board areas are as follows:
- Furness Locality Board comprises of the area formerly covered by Barrow-in-Furness Borough Council;
- North Westmorland Locality Board comprises of the area formerly covered by Eden District Council;
- South Westmorland Locality Board comprises of the area formerly covered by South Lakeland District Council.
