The Cumbria JSNA model
The JSNA model in Cumbria is based on bringing together seven sources of information that are relevant to the health and wellbeing needs of people living in Cumbria. These are described below:
- The people of Cumbria: includes information on the number of people living and working in Cumbria and how this may change in the future.
- Health and wellbeing status: includes a variety of measures on the health and wellbeing of the Cumbrian population.
- Determinants of health and wellbeing: includes information on social, economic and lifestyle factors that influence the health and wellbeing of people in Cumbria.
- Services: includes information about the services that people are using, how accessible these services are and their quality.
- What works: includes research and examples of practice that has shown to be effective in improving health and wellbeing.
- Voice: captures the views and experiences of people in Cumbria through a wide range of mechanisms including consultations, engagement exercises and reviewing compliments and complaints. Key information includes the services people feel should be prioritised, what people think would improve their over all health and wellbeing and their personal experiences of care services in Cumbria.
- Action: JSNA is about more than just data; it is about changing the lives of residents. The JSNA is an ongoing process that feeds into decisions about the future provision and direction of services in Cumbria.
